A Message from Authors in April
Authors in April is dedicated, more than ever, to bring children, authors, and illustrators together through the magic of books. We explored all options for continuing the Authors in April experience this year and are committed to prioritizing the health and wellness of our students, volunteers, school staff, and authors. Here’s what the 2020 Authors in April experience will look like. Authors in April will provide:
- Virtual presentations created by each author exclusive to Authors in April. Video links will be posted to an unlisted YouTube channel and shared only with students in our community. Principals at each school will email parents the video links. Families and school staff will be able to watch ALL the presentations this year!
- A “live town hall” hosted by each author for each school during their AIA scheduled visit day/time, where the authors will answer students' submitted questions. This gives our students the opportunity to have their questions answered and for our authors to learn all that’s been happening at each school. Each “live town hall” will also be recorded and posted on an unlisted YouTube channel provided to all families by their principals.
- We know how special personalized autographed books are to families, so AIA has created a form to gather personalization requests from families. Our authors will personalize and autograph bookplates!
